What is Tru Niagen?

Tru Niagen is a longevity pill produced by ChromaDex, Inc. This supplement contains nicotinamide riboside (NR), which functions to boost the levels of NAD+ in the body.

With increased NAD+ levels, the body is able to repair damaged cells much faster. The abundance of the coenzyme also provides the user with several other benefits such as improved metabolism, lower heart disease risk, and better cognitive function.

As we age, the levels of NAD+ that the body produces tend to decline. This results in the deterioration of the immune system, making us more susceptible to several age-related health conditions. Tru Niagen introduces NR, which your body converts into more NAD+.

Tru Niagen Ingredients and Why They Matter?

The experts at ChromaDex, Inc. made sure that Tru Niagen only contains the best ingredients to enable the formula to effectively fight signs of aging. According to the product label, each tablet of Tru Niagen contains:

  • Nicotinamide riboside chloride (300mg) – The formula’s key ingredient, this substance is the alternative form of vitamin B3 or Niacin. Once it enters the body, it is converted to NAD+, which is then used in different physiological processes like cell repair, among others. This article from the Encyclopedia of Biological Chemistry discusses NAD+ in detail.
  • Microcrystalline cellulose and Hypromellose – The product label also mentioned these two inactive substances as the additional ingredients. Both sound familiar because they are commonly used in many health supplements. Although they are plant-based, they do not have much nutritional value. Pharmaceutical companies only usually use them for making the capsule that will contain the medicine.

Certain individuals can also stop worrying about taking the product if they have a history of allergies because the formula does not contain caffeine, nuts, gluten, or artificial flavors.

According to the Tru Niagen reviews found online, most of the customers seemed to be satisfied with the results of taking this NAD supplement. Several of them reported a noticeable increase in their energy levels, while others also reported that they are in a better mood because they were able to sleep soundly.

In addition to these reviews, ChromaDex, Inc. also conducted its own study to assess the effectiveness of their product when it comes to improving the cognitive functions of older adults. Although the research yielded significant results, there is still insufficient data to prove their other claims.
