To be part of in-crowd, one must have the body size accepted by many as beautiful. There’s no doubt that those who have bigger body sizes are being ridiculed and deemed as ugly.

This kind of notion drives a lot of overweight people to lose weight. But saying so is not to push that kind of thinking further into the minds of people, admit or not that is not good at all, and can even damage one’s self-esteem.

More than the pursuit of beauty, people shed off pounds to become healthier. As we know, excessive fats in the body could impede the proper functioning of body’s different systems. Losing weight is a way that people do avoid diseases that come with excessive weight.

There are a lot of ways to lose weight and one is by taking diet pills. It’s known to be a quick answer to weight problems but needs to be accompanied by one’s efforts to keep a healthy diet.

There are natural diet pills and synthetic diet pills. The latter frequently poses more risks than the former, one could even gauge that it is riskier than the other based on the name.

Natural vs. Synthetic

People frequently turn to natural diet pills they are claimed to be more effective.

But first off, let’s break down the difference between these two kinds to know better.

Natural diet pills are made from extracts of natural herbs and alternative plants. It can also include synthetic agents for processing but only in tiny amounts.

Synthetic diet pills are made up, either partially or fully, from chemicals claiming to have medicinal properties. Such chemicals may either be derived from plants or animals.

Possible Side-Effects

No one is certain that natural diet pills have no side effects. But because they are deemed safer because it’s more natural than the other, side effects are often attributed to synthetic diet pills.

Here are some side effects of diet pills that you should be aware of:

  • Increased heart rate.
  • Change in sleeping patterns which can lead to insomnia.
  • Heart attack or cardiac arrest.
  • Headache.
  • Constipation, Diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems.
  • Dry Mouth.
  • Change in taste, metallic taste may be prominent in the mouth.
  • Nausea.
  • Skin numbness.
  • Blood pressure may reach a critical level.
  • Tightness in the chest.
  • Mood swings.
  • Cramps in the abdomen.
  • Headache and nervousness.

Given all these possible side effects, it does not necessarily mean that these kinds of products are no longer advised to be used by anyone. Sometimes the bad effects that diet pills or any pill are brought by improper way of using it, or by overdosing.

So you should always keep it a point to follow the right amount to take. Although these kinds of pills are over the counter, those who have medical conditions should consult their doctors concerning these kinds of products, before taking any step further.
