Phendrexin Overview

Phendrexin is a weight loss supplement created by Supreme Brands LLC. This company also makes Colotrim, Green Tea Supreme, and Green Tea Cleanse. All of the products come with a fifteen-day $1 trial, but this trial requires enrollment in an automatic membership program.Automatic memberships are popular among shady weight loss companies and are often difficult to cancel. Customers’ credit cards will continue to be charged unless they are able to cancel the membership. At the extreme end, customers have had to cancel their credit cards. Supreme Brands does not inspire much faith in their business practices with their uninformative website. Beyond the $1 trial and vague statements like “As Seen on TV,” the Phendrexin website offers little information. Near the bottom, some of the ingredients are listed, but their quantities are not. For example, the popular Hoodia Gordonii is included, but in what dosage? Hoodia is rare and expensive, so it is unlikely that Phendrexin contains much of that ingredient.

Phendrexin - Product Description

PhendrexinThe makers of Phendrexin are secretive about their product’s recipe. However, a few ingredients are known. The first is Hoodia Gordonii, an appetite suppressant that has been shown effective in clinical trials. It is derived from a South African plant known for treating indigestion and infection. Additional folklore adds that it is used as an appetite suppressant for South Africans on long hunting trips. However, scientists believe there is not sufficient evident to prove that Hoodia Gordonii is actually an appetite suppressant when used by humans. The most convincing studies were conducted with rats. Another Phendrexin ingredient is green tea.Green tea is a natural source of caffeine, a stimulant that can boost thermogenesis (increased metabolism). The boost is slight, however, and should not be overestimated. A similar story can be told for Phendrexin’s other natural stimulant, guarana. Phendrexin also contains the Brazilian diuretic cha de bugre as well as magnolia bark, banaba, and l-theanine. Magnolia bark may not sound very appetizing, but it is gaining popularity for its proposed ability to control the stress hormone cortisol. Banaba has been tested for its ability to control blood sugar. And l-theanine may increase feelings of relaxation when combined with caffeine (such a Phendrexin’s green tea).

Phendrexin Advantage

  • The official product website offers a $1 trial.
  • Phendrexin contains ingredients that have been tested in clinical studies.
  • Phendrexin contains ingredients with added health benefits.

Phendrexin - Drawbacks

  • The Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated the claims of this product.
  • The $1 trial requires enrollment in an automatic membership program.
  • A full list of ingredients is not available.

Phendrexin - The Bottom Line

Phendrexin’s known recipe is promising. Hoodia is particularly popular on the weight loss scene, and green tea can increase metabolism. However, without knowing the dosages of these ingredients, it is difficult to predict the effectiveness of Phendrexin. While the parent company offers a $1 trial, this trial requires enrollment in an automatic membership program. Automatic membership programs can be a headache for customers. Dieters can find similar products from companies that are more forthcoming about their products.
