Cuur Overview

CUUR is hailed as the ‘Swedish Secret’ of weight loss. It is marketed in a very attractive and professional way, and the company website itself is extremely impressive. The first thing one notices when visiting the site is the gallery of celebrity pictures all featuring individuals holding the CUUR product or a CUUR gift bag. Although this gives the product a great image, it is important to realise that all the pictures were taken at CUUR sponsored events so, in effect, the company was paying for the endorsements.Much of the CUUR website focuses on the amount that the product has been featured in the media, either through advertising in magazines or the aforementioned sponsored events. There is a slew of magazine covers and list of press releases which, while interesting to look at, do not give the consumer any information about the CUUR product! The site does feature a reasonable FAQ section and a good testimonial page. The testimonials show before and after photos, statistics and statements by seemingly credible users. Most of them have achieved their weight loss goals over a healthy amount of time, for example, 30lbs over 6-12 months. Another nice feature of the site is the downloadable CUUR ‘plan’, though this is somewhat more impressive sounding than it actually is in reality. The three part plan is basically the CUUR pill, and a diet and exercise routine developed by celebrity trainer Valerie Watson (who appears on the CUUR commercial, which can also be viewed on the website). Both routines are very standard and should be common sense to anyone with the slightest knowledge about health and diet. However, it is good that the CUUR company does not focus solely on using their product to lose weight.

Cuur - Product Description

CuurUnfortunately there is very little information about the CUUR pill. It consists of four botanicals none of which stand out as major weight loss substances. As with many other popular diet pills, CUUR includes green tea which as well as being a good antioxidant also contains caffeine which can stimulate the metabolism and cause an increase in fat burning. The other three ingredients may not be as familiar; Yerba Mate, again a stimulant similar to green tea; Coleus Forskohlii, a mint extract that stimulates the thyroid gland; Betula Alba, an ingredient commonly found in skin creams but which also has diuretic properties (i.e. the promotion of water loss). No further information can be found about any of these ingredients or the individual amounts of each in the capsules. Although the company does show a long list of clinical studies undertaken on each ingredient, it really means nothing without knowing the amount per pill.

Cuur Advantage

  • CUUR has a very attractive and user-friendly website.
  • There is a lot of information regarding the company itself, the events it sponsors and the manufacturers (Scandinavian Clinical Nutrition).
  • Although the company is fairly new, they seem to have a good reputation in the industry already.
  • All the ingredients in CUUR are natural botanical extracts.
  • An exercise and diet plan is included in the program.
  • The company offers a free trial of CUUR (note: receiving the free trial automatically signs the customer up for the ‘Autoship’ program, which some consumers prefer not to do)

Cuur - Drawbacks

  • The website gives virtually no information about the ingredients in CUUR.
  • Despite a heavy media presence, much of this is basically paid advertising.
  • Strangely, the company do not publish the findings of a clinical trial undertaken on CUUR.

Cuur - The Bottom Line

While nice to look at, it seems that the CUUR company and product is a case of ’style over substance’. It’s possible that although the ingredients may have some effect on weight loss, consumers are more likely to be attracted to the product due to it’s celebrity association. Surprisingly, the CUUR product is not as expensive as most, costing $39.95 directly from the company. CUUR is also sold through independent retailers so it may be worth shopping around for an even better price if desired.
