WASHINGTON:

A recent research has proved that gut bacteria which waste products activate which is nothing but a single molecule present in the intestinal wall plays a very important in shaping the body of the host.

When this bacteria gets activated it reduces the movement of food all the way through the intestine and allows the nutrients to get absorbed more and this helps to gain weight.

Researchers also said that the study which was done on mice also showed that these bacterial byproducts can be used by the host not only as a source to get nutrients but also can be used to regulate the different functions of the body. It is also a probable method to control weight.

Prof. Masashi Yanagisawa, who is a professor of molecular genetics at University of Texas Southwestern and is also a senior co-author of this study said that certain kind of obesity can be fought with the help of these bacteria i.e. by blocking this molecule in the intestine which blocks the absorption of energy from the gut.

As many bacteria are present in other animals human body also contain various bacteria in the intestine that are beneficial for out body. Bacteria present in the body breaks many large molecules that the host is unable to digest. According to a university press release the host also absorbs the small molecules that are the result of breaking up of the large molecules which is used for energy.
