Washington (IANS):
Rheumatoid arthritis is now found to be resurfacing in the women in United States after four decades of in activeness.
According to Sherine Gabriel who is a Rheumatologist in Mayo Clinic and also is the investigator of the study, there is a requirement of more research to properly understand the origin of this disease and to find out the treatment for such a deadly disease.
There was a decline of this disease in from the year 1955 to 1994 but recently things have found to be changed in the mid of nineties. This was found when the patients from the early 1995 to 2005 were analyzed by the researchers in the Mayo. It was found by the Mayo researchers that both numbers as well as the occurrence has been increased.
The study done earlier showed that among100, 000 women 36 developed this deadly disease called rheumatoid arthritis per year. Whereas a recent study came up with different figures which are quiet more than earlier about 54 women out of 100,000 found to have developed this deadly disease.
This statistics indicated the number of women who developed this disease and among men it was found that about out of 100,000 29 men developed this deadly disease. If both men and women are considered the percentage has increased from 0.85 percent to 0.95 percent.
Researchers could not found the reason behind this. But Mayo Clinic Researchers believe that environmental factor may be one of the reasons for this.
