Single Polypill To Solve Heart Problems

In a recent study a single polypill has been tested that is made with the combination of aspirin that helps in blood-thinning, ACE inhibitor and thiazise that helps to decrease blood pressure and statin that helps in cholesterol-lowering.
700 volunteers will be testing the effectiveness and safety of this polypill. It will be manufactured in India by Dr Reddy’s of Hyderabad. Anthony Rodgers at the University of Auckland, New Zealand is directing the project and funds will be provided by the trust named Well come Trust in London, UK altogether with the British Heart Foundation.
The pill will be called the Red Heart Pill according to the New Scientists report, it will minimize the risk of heart disease and also stroke in both the rich as well as poor countries. Month supply will cost about $ 1. Patients from all over the countries like India, Australia, Brazil, US, Netherlands, UK, New Zealand will be enrolled for the pilot trial.
This very new concept first clicked Nick J. Wald and Malcolm R. Law of the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine in London. This concept was then advocated before five years in the British Medical Journal.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) figures in the year 2005 about 17.5 million people died due to heart diseases. Very shockingly this figure is almost 30% of all the deaths around the whole world. And if this doesn’t’ change than chances are that about 20 million people will die due to heart problems by 2015.
Due to lack of capital and proper method of treatment for heart related problems people are unable to afford it the present treatment methods. But with the new discovery of the Red Heart Pill there is a new hope that it will help those people and prevent them from heart related problems.
