FucoSlim Overview

FucoSlim is a product that claims to be from ‘the sea of Japan’. The reason for this statement is that FucoSlim contains the wakame seaweed extract fucoxanthin, an ingredient that has quite recently become a popular weight loss aid in North America.

The information available for FucoSlim is not very well presented. The official website is confusing and poorly written and although it does contain some useful facts about the ingredients in the product, it is severely lacking in other areas. There is no FAQ section and the testimonials from past customers are not accompanied by photos and do not seem authentic.

The company that makes FucoSlim, NatraScience, uses some questionable sales tactics to promote the product. For example they show random television news logos, such as Fox News and CNN, hoping to give the impression that the product has been mentioned or endorsed by these companies (which is not true in this case). Also, they suggest that due to overwhelming demand, the customer must order the product immediately before the company runs out, which again, is usually not true. In addition to this, the customer must complete an eligibility questionnaire to determine if they qualify for the risk free trial of the product. The chances of anyone actually not qualifying however are highly unlikely.

FucoSlim - Product Description

The one area that the FucoSlim website impresses is in the information it gives about the ingredients in the product. Although they fail to provide a product label, and the exact amounts of the ingredients are not known, the company do give detailed explanations of each substance complete with clinical studies and source references.

FucoSlim seems to consist of four main ingredients. Fucoxanthin, is the seaweed extract with fat-burning properties that increases the thermogenetic ability of the body and breaks down the white adipose tissue (responsible for stomach fat). Green Tea extract is a popular weight loss aid due to its energy boosting and anti-oxidant qualities. Another popular ingredient is Pomegranate; sometimes seen on lists of ’superfoods, this fruit contains large amounts of vitamin B, which can lower stress in the body. (Stress is often linked with weight gain, particularly in the mid-section). Lastly, the appetite suppressant Hoodia Gordonia is added, which, obviously helps curb cravings and deters over-eating.

No dosage instructions are given on the website nor is there any indication as to how long the consumer must use the product before seeing results.

FucoSlim Advantage

FucoSlim contains some powerful weight loss ingredients

The product has a 30-day money back guarantee

The product claims to be stimulant-free, thus not causing jitters or anxiety

The website provides excellent ingredient details

Clinical studies were performed on the main ingredient Fucoxanthin

The product targets belly fat

FucoSlim - Drawbacks

The company employs some deceiving marketing techniques

The customer must ‘qualify’ to receive their free trial

No ingredient amounts are given

The website is poorly written and unprofessional

The consumer is not informed of the full price of the product

FucoSlim - The Bottomline

The use of Fucoxanthin in weight loss products is a fairly new practice in North America, but there is no doubt that sea vegetables and their extracts certainly have powerful health benefits.

It is unfortunate that FucoSlim gives such a bad impression as it does contain some worthy ingredients. However, given the poor quality of the website and the fact that the price seems to be a mystery (it has been seen for costs ranging from $59.95 to $139.00), it is a product that cannot be recommended.

Leptorexin Overview

Leptorexin is a pill that works in six ways to help with weight loss, anti-aging and detoxification to name just a few.

The Leptorexin website is very informative and easy to use as it basically consists of one page, with links to the ordering process and terms and conditions. The page shows a number of testimonials from satisfied customers, many of whom claim to have not only lost significant amounts of weight, but point out that they have achieved a better sense of well-being.

There are a couple of dubious aspects to the Leptorexin site that unfortunately makes the product lose some of its credibility. Firstly, the company suggests that the supplies of Leptorexin are running out and therefore one should place their order immediately. Secondly, they have placed logos from a couple of network news stations on the site, in order to give the impression that they are endorsing the product, which certainly doesn’t seem to be the case.

Leptorexin - Product Description

The information regarding the contents of Leptorexin is quite impressive, and the company provides the labels for each of the separate blends.

Basically, Leptorexin is a combination of six proprietary blends, or ‘matrixes’: the euphoric fat-burning matrix is made up of mood elevating ingredients such as St. John’s wort, 5HTP, gingko biloba, chocomine and the clinically successful PEA. Vitamins and minerals are combined in the second matrix including vitamins C, B12, B6, chromium and selenium, which work to create a ‘fat-burning’ atmosphere. The superfoods matrix combines the recently popular anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory ingredients such as barley, garlic, soybean and acai berry. To achieve fat loss as opposed to simply weight loss (which often is just water loss), the lean muscle matrix uses clinically tested components that include L-glutamine and L-arginine, whilst the body and liver detox matrix addresses cleansing the system using natural herbal substances that include dandelion, licorice, cranberry and sage. Finally the anti-aging matrix combines green tea, DMAE and alpha lipoic acid to help cell regeneration and fight off cancer-causing free radicals.

Because of the huge amount of ingredients contained in Liptorexin, the user is required to take 6 capsules per day - 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.

Leptorexin Advantage

Leptorexin contains some clinically tested ingredients

The product address a number of health and well-being concerns

Leptorexin comes with a 100% lifetime guarantee

The one page informational website is easy to use

The site contains customer testimonials and FAQ’s

Discounts are given for larger orders

The product promotes fat loss rather than weight loss

The product has received generally positive reviews on independent consumer sites

Leptorexin - Drawbacks

The company resorts to some misleading sales tactics

There are a large number of pills required per day

All the ingredients are contained in proprietary blends, so the amounts are not given

The product claims to produce 1lb of weight loss per day, not a medically recommended amount

Leptorexin - The Bottomline

On the surface, Leptorexin does seem to be a good product that contains a number of powerful ingredients. However, the amounts of each ingredient are likely to be very small, hence the need for 6 capsules a day (which would obviously be a problem for anyone adverse to swallowing pills). There may not be enough fat-burning ingredients in Leptorexin to produce such rapid weight loss and it is a concern that the company makes no mention of the need to use exercise as part of the overall plan.

Given that Leptorexin comes with a lifetime 100% satisfaction guarantee, and the fact that there have been no consumer complaints filed against the company, it is a product that would be recommended, particularly when it can be bought at the discounted price of $59.99 (at the time of writing) as opposed to the regular price, $99.99.

UltraSlim XS Overview

The UltraSlim XS weight loss pill is an all natural capsule that claims to be able to help the user achieve a rapid weight loss. The official UltraSlim XS website is not very informative - the main focus seems to be on the ordering process more than supplying details about the product.

Only three consumer testimonials are shown, which are accompanied by authentic-looking photos. There is no FAQ section unfortunately and very little about the effect UltraSlim has in terms of weight loss. In addition to this, there are no clinical trials shown to back up any of the claims made about the product.

The website does show quotes from some major network news shows such as ABC news, The New York Times and Reuters which mention the beneficial properties of CitriMax and Chromemate, two of the main patented blends in UltraSlim XS. However, none of the shows actually mention UltraSlim XS by name, and are in no way endorsing the product.

UltraSlim XS - Product Description

There are no explanations given on the UltraSlim XS website as to the ingredients contained in the pill. There is a link to the actual product label, which shows that each capsule contains Chromium, Kidney bean, Green Tea extract and Garcinia Cambogia. Non-active substances in UltraSlim XS include Diacalcium Phosphate, Cellulose and Silica. The capsules seem to be suitable for users with shellfish and diary allergies and no preservatives or artificial colors are used.

UltraSlim XS is packaged in bottles of 60 capsules which should last one month at a dose of two per day. Although the company states that UltraSlim XS can result in a weight loss of 10lbs in 10 days (which is not a medically safe amount), it also claims that the product encourages a gradual weight loss, obviously contradicting the former statement.

UltraSlim XS Advantage

UltraSlim XS is available for a free trial

The product speeds the metabolism and suppresses the appetite

UltraSlim XS contains patented ingredients

The website shows the product label

The capsules contain natural ingredients with no preservatives

UltraSlim XS - Drawbacks

The official UltraSlim XS website contains very little product information

The information regarding the amount of weight loss to expect is confusing

The amounts of the ingredients are not known

No FAQ section is included on the site

Only three short testimonials are available

No clinical trials were performed on UltraSlim XS

The company does not mention a sensible, healthy diet or exercise regime

UltraSlim XS - The Bottom Line

Whilst UltraSlim XS does contain some patented and effective ingredients, the manufacturers fail to give the prospective consumer adequate information about the product in order for them to make an educated decision.

There are no good independent reviews regarding UltraSlim XS to be found elsewhere on the internet and it certainly does not seem to be one of the more popular and widely used weight loss methods. In addition to this, it is fairly expensive, costing $59.95 for a one month supply and appears to only be available directly from the manufacturers, which does not allow for competitive pricing.

Evercleanse Overview

The Evercleanse brand of colon cleanser and detoxifier will be familiar to many people due to their frequent radio commercials. In these commercials, which can also be played on the official Evercleanse website, the voiceover likens the body’s built-up waste to ’spackle or plaster’ that is stuck to the intestine. By eliminating the waste, the company claims the user can not only feel refreshed and ‘lighter’ but also lose the stubborn weight that refuses to budge, despite diet or exercise.

The Evercleanse website is very ‘clean’ looking, using bright graphics and clearly labelled sections. However, it doesn’t really contain much information about the product particularly in terms of usage and ingredients. It does supply a testimonials section which is not accompanied by before and after shots, and there is also a very brief FAQ section. As with many products of this kind, a large amount of the website is devoted to the ordering process.

There is some information regarding why a consumer should use a cleansing product and the health benefits from detoxifying the body, but nothing is backed up by medical evidence nor are there any clinical studies shown regarding the effectiveness of Evercleanse.

Evercleanse - Product Description

Unfortunately, the information on the Evercleanse formulas is very sparse and, although the product labels are shown, no full explanations are given as to the exact ingredients, which appear to be simply fiber and carbohydrates in the cleansing formula and probiotics in the ‘replenishing’ blend.

As the website explains, Evercleanse is a three-step process. The first step (The Clean Sweep) is designed to cleanse the system, removing built-up waste and promoting regular bowel movements. The second, Replenish, adds healthy bacteria back into the body which in turn helps the digestion and absorption of vital nutrients. Lastly is the colon maintenance support program, a high-fiber formula containing flaxseed and colostrums that obviously helps keep the intestinal tract healthy and free of waste.

Unfortunately, no directions are given as to how the different formulas should be taken, although it appears that the ‘Clean Sweep’ is in the form of a powder that can be added to food and water, while the ‘Replenish’ is a capsule. No further information is given about the last step.

Evercleanse Advantage

Evercleanse has an easy to use, clearly labelled website

The product promotes regular bowel movements using natural fiber ingredients

The website features an audio clip of the radio commercial

The site features a customer testimonials section

The company offers a mini two-week cleansing package

Evercleanse - Drawbacks

Evercleanse has received some negative independent consumer reviews and complaints

It is not clear if the ‘maintenance’ formula is included in the package

No usage directions are given

Evercleanse is expensive, costing $99.95 for a one month supply

The company does not encourage a sensible diet or exercise

No clinical studies are shown

Evercleanse - The Bottom Line

Although there may be some connection between built-up waste in the system and weight loss, there is not enough evidence to justify spending any money on a product like Evercleanse. There are simply way too many consumer complaints reported against the company to be able to recommend this product, however legitimate the radio commercials make it seem.

You On A Diet Overview

You on a Diet is an offshoot of the popular ‘You - An Owners Manual’ co-authored by Dr. Michael Roizen and Dr. Mehmet Oz. Both doctors have become very well-known not only through their book but from numerous media appearances and syndicated newspaper columns.

The You On A Diet program is featured on the RealAge website. There is a huge amount of good information on the site although much of it requires registration first. The diet emphasises the importance of ‘waist’ loss rather than weight loss. In other words, the doctors believe that the ratio of height and waist measurements is a better indication of overall health than an individual’s actual weight. It has been scientifically proven that anyone carrying most of their weight around the belly is far more at risk of heart disease, stroke and a number of other illnesses.

The website for the You On A Diet plan is very well laid out with good, clearly labelled sections. Some of the features are accessible without registration although the majority do require this first which can be somewhat frustrating.

You On A Diet - Product Description

It is probably a good idea to use the online program as a complement to the actual You On A Diet book, which can be ordered through the site’s link to Amazon at a cost of $16.50. The website does feature some excellent tools however, many of them being interactive and customized to fit one’s needs.

The diet promises to help the user lose inches off their waist in an initial 2 week period. Users can access an interactive 2 week meal planner where they can choose from a selection of meals all provided with the corresponding nutritional data. The average daily calorie amount is 1500 calories and generally based on a low fat, high fiber and protein diet, with no major food groups excluded.

The doctors recommend at least 20 minutes of daily exercise and provide a comprehensive fitness routine in the form of instructional videos available at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels. The site also gives tips on how to increase activity in day to day life, how to break through the weight loss plateau and estimate the amount of exercise needed to burn off certain foods.

One important part of the overall plan is gaining motivation and support from fellow dieters and for this purpose the site provides a large community forum plus the ability to find a weight loss ‘buddy’.

Apart from the purchase of the book, all the information provided by the site is free of charge.

You On A Diet Advantage

You On A Diet is a very successful, best-selling book by reputable doctors

The diet has been featured on a number of well known news programs

The diet emphasises the importance of losing belly fat

The site provides good, easy to use weight loss tools

The program strongly encourages the dieter to join up with a weight loss ‘buddy’ for extra support

The user can customize daily meal plans to suit their preferences

There is a 20 minute, easy to follow video workout offered at three different levels

The You On A Diet site is free to use after registration

You On A Diet - Drawbacks

The diet does not provide professional personal support

Some consumers have complained that the diet plan is nothing more than simple common sense

The diet is not suitable for anyone with a substantial amount of weight to lose

You On A Diet - The Bottom Line

The You On A Diet program may have suffered from being over-hyped in the media, diminishing some of its credibility. However, on the whole it is a very sensible and balanced plan that encourages the loss of the dangerous fat that accumulates around the waist.

For those who need to whittle their waists, it would be worth spending the money on the original book, and use the website to access the useful online tools for extra help. However, anyone who is carrying a large amount of weight around their middle would be advised to visit their G.P. in case they have more serious health problems that may need attention.

Rather than a diet plan, Vitalicious is a range of baked goods that are all low fat and 100 calories per serving.

The Vitalicious website contains comprehensive and extensive information on all its products but also provides sections for diet and exercise tips, links to health-related articles and video clips of shows that have featured the company.

The website is very easy to navigate, clearly labelled and professionally laid out. It has a cutely titled ‘Tastymonials’ section plus product and nutritional information and related recipes.

Vitalicious - Product Description

Vitalicious produces five products; VitaTops (i.e. muffin tops), VitaMuffins, VitaBrownies, VitaCake and VitaMix. The mix is particularly useful as it can be used to make regular muffins, cakes or even as a base to add a variety of healthy ingredients, as demonstrated on the recipes page.

Each product contains 100 calories, is low fat, high protein and fortified with vitamins and minerals (including calcium, niacin, folic acid, vitamins A, B, C and E). The muffins, tops and mixes come in a variety of flavours such as banana, corn, apple, bran and chocolate, the brownies in two chocolate varieties and the cake in chocolate. All products show the complete ingredient lists, which are 100% natural.

Although the products can be purchased online, the Vitalicious site provides a locator for finding a retailer in the consumer’s area. Buying from the site requires buying the products in bulk but since everything can be frozen, this should not be a problem, and actually saves the consumer money on shipping costs. Individually, the price per muffin works out to be in the range of $1.50-$1.75.

Vitalicious Advantage

All products are 100 calories each

The website provides health calculators and related articles

The company has won several food industry awards

The products are fortified with vitamins and minerals

The products have received positive customer reviews

The muffins and tops are able to be frozen

The mixes can be used as the base for other recipes

All the ingredients are listed

The products have a 15-day money back guarantee

Vitalicious - Drawbacks

The consumer could alternatively snack on 100 calories worth of fruits or vegetables

The online store only sells the products in multiples

Vitalicious - The Bottom Line

Often the danger with low-fat products is that the sugar level is high but this is certainly not the case with Vitalicious. There is no reason why any dieter cannot enjoy this product as a healthy snack knowing that it is good for them, low in calories and most importantly, delicious.

Using the mixes as a base is an excellent idea as a variety of healthy ingredients can be added, making them even more nutritious than they are already.

Total Mommy Fitness Overview

The Austin-based company Total Mommy Fitness is a business that helps women get fit during and after pregnancy. The company was founded by personal trainer Tatum Rebelle who is also personally involved with the day to day running of the program along with a number of other fitness and nutrition experts.

The official Total Mommy Fitness website is a beautiful, modern and easy to use site that provides information on the company, its philosophies and the programs it offers. Featuring photos of mothers, pregnant women and children participating in outdoor activities, it is obvious that the exercise programs are designed to include the entire family.

The website explains the Total Mommy Fitness programs in a very comprehensive way but gives no details on the type of exercise or food that is required on the plan. The site also features some short testimonials from past and present customers plus a good FAQ section regarding fitness and nutrition during pregnancy.

Total Mommy Fitness - Product Description

If living in the Austin area, the consumer can buy the personal training package which is often run by Rebelle herself. They can start with a one-time session which costs $95.00 The price decreases the more people there are in the group, so it is well worth a number of moms getting together to take part in the training (groups of 4 or more costs $25.00 per person) Longer programs are also available including 10-weeks and 20-weeks for $1000.00 and $1750.00 respectively. The programs are tailored to meet the individual’s needs (whether pre or post-natal) in terms of nutrition and exercise. Children’s participation is strongly encouraged and all the exercises are designed so that they can easily be done at home and not at the gym.

For those not living in Austin, the Total Mommy Fitness program is available online but would obviously not be as personal or maybe effective as the one-on-one training.

Although there are no specific nutrition details on the site, the overall diet is based on low glycemic index foods, fruits, vegetables and ‘good’ fats. It doesn’t appear that any major food groups are prohibited.

Total Mommy Fitness Advantage

Total Mommy Fitness is designed for pre and post natal women

The program focuses on healthy living rather than weight loss

The program is ‘kid-friendly’

The Total Mommy Fitness trainers are all qualified professionals

The program is available online

Price breaks are given on larger groups

The website is easy to navigate and professional

The personal program has received excellent consumer reviews

Total Mommy Fitness - Drawbacks

Personal training is only available to Austin residents

The 10 and 20 week packages are expensive

Total Mommy Fitness - The Bottom Line

The Total Mommy Fitness program would be highly recommended to anyone living in the Austin area. Many consumers were happy with the level of support and encouragement they received from the trainers and many have continued to use the program long after pregnancy and giving birth. Obviously for those participating online, the level of support would be significantly less with the subscriber having to rely on themselves for motivation and participation.

The Vice-Busting Diet Overview

The Vice-busting Diet is a potentially good plan that suffers from bad marketing. The official website for the diet is very unprofessional looking, consisting of one page of information that is repeatedly interrupted by an ‘Order Now’ instruction.

The creator of The Vice-Busting Diet is Julia Havey, a formerly obese woman who lost over 130lbs by discovering a ‘revolutionary weight loss secret’. The website is written in a very ‘folksy’, one-on-one style, showing photographic evidence of Ms. Havey’s weight loss. She is also the narrator on a video presentation that features a number of customer testimonials (as does the website itself).

The site explains nothing about the actual diet plan, for example what type of food is allowed, type of exercise required, although it does provide a good amount of information regarding exactly what products are included and a list of the ‘bonus’ free gifts on offer.

Throughout the web page, in addition to the customer photo testimonials, are written endorsements from Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. David Katz, authors of ‘YOU on a Diet’ and frequent contributors to the Oprah Winfrey show, and Mark Victor Hansen, author of ‘chicken Soup for the Soul’.

The Vice-Busting Diet - Product Description

The Vice-Busting Diet is a 26-week plan that Ms. Havey guarantees will result in a 40lb weight loss in six months. At the time of writing the cost of the plan was offered at a discount rate of $197.00, and came with bonus gifts worth $295.00. For this price, the customer receives a multi-media kit that includes audio, video and written information.

Among the products are a ‘Get Started’ video, a 26-week weight loss journal, a motivational and instructional CD, a 30 minute exercise video, the MP3 ‘Maintaining Motivation’ and The Vice-Busting Diet book. Also included in the price is unlimited access to the ‘members only’ website, personal support from Julia Havey (via phone calls) and, most importantly, the weight loss ’secret’.

The Vice-Busting Diet Advantage

Julia Havey seems to have a good reputation in the industry and was named as the Special Ambassador to the HealthCorp (a movement designed to reduce childhood obesity)

The diet plan provides a number of different weight loss tools

The plan comes with a 100% weight loss guarantee

The diet plan is professionally endorsed and has been featured on a variety of news shows (including CBS News and Oprah)

The website is very easy to navigate

The plan is offered at a discount rate and with free gifts

The Vice-Busting Diet - Drawbacks

The website provides no exercise or meal information

The information is presented in an overall ‘too good to be true’ image

The website is very basic and unprofessional

Julia Havey has no professional background or qualifications in the nutritional or medical field

No clinical trials are shown as evidence of the plans success

The Vice-Busting Diet - The Bottom Line

As previously mentioned, The Vice-Busting Diet could well be a sensible, balanced plan for successful and sustainable weight loss. However, the credibility of the plan is impaired by the secretive and unprofessional manner in which the material is presented.

There are some independent reviews of the diet plan on a handful of consumer forums and there is no doubt that both the plan and Ms. Havey, are recommended by some reputable professionals. However, with so many less expensive and more informative plans on the market it is unlikely that a consumer would be willing to part with almost $200.00 for The Vice-Busting Diet.

The Slimdown Overview

The Slimdown is a home delivery meal service designed to provide calorie and portion controlled meals to the dieter.

The Slimdown official website explains the delivery system extremely well, emphasising the fact that the meals are never frozen, able to be cooked in minutes (in a microwave) and delivered before 5 a.m. in insulated coolers. The site lists some of the over 2500 entrees and desserts available plus shows a sample 14-day meal plan.

The Slimdown company offers coaching and support from registered dieticians, who are also able to work with the individual customer in order to choose which diet ‘track’ is the best for them. The majority of the diets are based on low carbohydrate, low calorie meal plans, the most popular being the Zone, South Beach and Calorie Restriction diet programs. All meal plan choices are designed to help the dieter lose an average of 2-5lbs per week, slightly more than the professionally recommended amount.

The Slimdown - Product Description

A typical daily menu consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner plus one dessert, based on whichever diet plan is chosen. Each day’s menu provides 100% of the individual’s nutritional requirements and there is no need to add any extra vegetables or fruits to the meals.

The meals do not have to be ordered everyday - the customer can choose which days he or she receives the food, the most popular plan being Monday through Friday. In addition to this customers can also opt to save money by having the meals delivered bi-weekly, rather than daily although the meal option with this method is restricted to the Calorie Restriction plan.

Whilst customers can get a price break if more than one household member is on the plan, The Slimdown service is certainly not cheap, though on a par with similar services. The cost for a 31-day delivery costs $1145.45, or $36.95 per day. By ordering the meals bi-weekly, the customer can save about $8.00 per day.

The Slimdown company does not offer any information on exercise, so it would be up to the individual to embark on a fitness program separately. However, as well as the initial free consultation, the nutritionists will counsel and advise the customer, and help them identify behaviours that can lead to over eating and weight gain.

The Slimdown Advantage

The meals can be customized to suit the dieter’s needs

The customer can save money by having a bi-weekly delivery

There is a huge selection of meals to choose from

Nutritionists are available for counselling and support

The meals provide 100% daily nutritional requirements

No extra ingredients need to be added to the meals

The Slimdown website is very easy to use

The Slimdown - Drawbacks

The Slimdown meal delivery service is expensive

The daily menus provide no snacks or beverages

The company gives no information on fitness or exercise

The company has no positive independent consumer reviews on any dieting forums or websites

The Slimdown - The Bottom Line

The Slimdown meal delivery service is so costly that it is doubtful anyone would be inclined to use it. It is good that the meals do not need anything added to them, although most customers may not feel satisfied with only three meals per day and no snacks.

It would be more advisable, and possibly more cost effective for a dieter to pay for a personal nutritionist who can teach them how to prepare their own calorie and portion controlled meals.

The Sedona Method Overview

The Sedona Method is a form of self-help therapy designed to assist in a variety of mental and physical problems, including weight loss.

Developed by the late physicist Lester Levenson over 30 years ago, The Sedona Method claims to have been responsible for helping thousands of people through its seminars, retreats (at the Sedona Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona) and online courses.

The Sedona Method website is extremely comprehensive and covers all major areas of the subject, almost to the point where there is too much information to be properly absorbed. In addition to explaining at length what the Sedona Method is, it also has many testimonials from past customers and some very renowned professionals, many of whom are also self-help authors (for example the co-founder of the ‘Chicken Soup’ series and the author of ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’). Many of the testimonials are presented in video or audio presentations as are introductions and sample seminars from the Sedona Method co-founder Hale Dworskin.

Many consumer questions are answered in the FAQ section, which is broken up even further into more specific areas found in the ‘How can it help me’ section. It is here that the consumer can find information on how The Sedona Method can assist in both the physical and psychological barriers dieters come up against. It gives just enough information to give the reader a good idea of how it can help, without obviously revealing the ’secret’ method.

The Sedona Method - Product Description

The Sedona Method is available in a variety of forms, from personal training sessions, week log retreats, and through the online at home training course. In addition to information regarding the upcoming seminars and retreats, the website offers training courses for those who wish to become a ‘Sedona Method’ coach, and links to finding an individual Method trainer in one’s area.

The home training course consists of 20 audio CDs, a 198-page workbook and unlimited 24 hour support. In addition to this, the customer is given two bonuses - a 2-hour seminar DVD and a copy of the best-selling original ‘The Sedona Method’ book. If desired, the customer is also given access to the ‘World Release Community’. Much like a community forum and discussion board, it includes Hale Dwoskin’s personal blog and his regular live ‘web chats’.

The cost of the home training course is $388.00 and has a 180-day 100% money back guarantee.

The Sedona Method Advantage

The Sedona Method has been established for over 30 years

There are good independent consumer reviews of The Sedona Method

The website is extremely informative and comprehensive

The site features a FAQ section and many customer testimonials

Customers are provided with 24-hour personal support

The Sedona Method claims to aid weight loss and improve general self esteem

The site provides articles from The Sedona Method newsletters

The course has a 180-day money back guarantee

The Sedona Method is endorsed by many self-help professionals

The Sedona Method - Drawbacks

The Sedona Method has not been proven to help dieters lose weight

The website does not promote diet or exercise

Independent consumers have found the 20 CD course too lengthy and inconvenient

The Sedona Method should not be used in place of professional therapy if required

The home training course is expensive

The site is very complicated with too many links

The Sedona Method - The Bottom Line

Anyone considering trying the Sedona Method would need a lot of will and determination in order to succeed, despite the offer of personal support. Most people would find it extremely hard to overcome major problems simply by using a self-help CD, and it certainly should not be used as an alternative to professional one-on-one therapy if that is what’s needed.

It would be advisable, and much more affordable for the consumer to start by buying The Sedona Method book before taking a chance on the home training course.
